Located around 85 km from Kasaragod town, the Ranipuram hills are 750m above sea level on the Western Ghats. Wrapped in shola woods, monsoon forests and grasslands, its trekking trails are famous among travelers.
Earlier known Madathumala, the extensive forests of Ranipuram merge with the forests in Karnataka. Wild elephants are a common sight here. Facilities are available for tourists to have a comfortable stay in the hills. Jeep and bus services too are available.
